On behalf of the whole Community of Thurne, Ashby and Oby, Thurne Parish Council will be ceremonially planting two oak trees to mark the Coronation of King Charles III at Cookes Community Wood at 12:30 on Sunday 7th May 2023.
All (whether residents or visitors) are most welcome to attend.
If the weather is clement, you might like to bring a chair or blanket and a picnic lunch or refreshments. Please note there are no facilities at the site and all rubbish must be taken home.
The event/location will be signposted from the car parking area near the public toilets in the centre of the village from where it is about a ten minute walk.
